Appreciating one’s body boosts an individual’s confidence. Good attitude and personality twiddle along, together with amazing creativity. You have a great looking summer body, is a compliment hoped for, to be received from onlookers. And what better way of having that compliment tossed to you heavily, than by taking a post-workout photo, then post it on social media?
It is an excellent aspect, to praise oneself about their achievements, such as setting an exercising goal and accomplishing it. Pride follows, and the moment is captured for future reference, in form of a selfie or genuine photo, ensuring exercising progress. Such a moment also deserves a celebratory dance, once the selfie is captured under excellent lighting, striking from a right angle. However, fate strikes when one has a hundred and forty more pushups to go. It could be in a middle of a workout, then a feeling of wanting to take a sweaty selfie with muscles pumped up, kicks in. The struggle is real, but, but, one is left with an option of dialing it down a notch, and checking off remaining exercises.
I am against individuals who exercise for two-minutes and spend the next sixteen trying to take an awesome selfie. Ten years and I still don’t get it? Is that all they came to do at the fitness center? Why the bloody haven didn’t they stay at home and do it from there? Okay, can they at least get their butts off the machine so that I use it? Are they showing off latest fancy athletic wear? Does anyone actually care? And a quick reminder, mirrors in fitness centers are to ensure proper form and format of a performed exercise. Don’t take I wrong. You can always take a workout selfie in a middle of a workout. Times when I do it, it’s quick and rough, during resting periods. However, this rarely happens since I often don’t have a phone with I when exercising.
I at times take post workout selfies, showing off a drenched body, dripping with evidence of satisfaction. It is a spectacular feeling, brightening up a shady day. I used to do it in the bathroom, but, but, I had to end the practice. This was because most fitness centers are equipped with lockers. Can you imagine capturing a selfie with a nude fellow dashing from the showers to their locker?
A selfie taken at one’s full potential, say during or after a workout, is an inspirational source of motivation, when one feels more of a complete coach potato. It is such motivational selfies I look forward to. Furthermore, I prefer a randomly taken selfie than one properly posed for. Care should be taken when taking a selfie, to avoid injury or serious bodily harm. Selfies taken at a heightened hike peak or cliff are cool, but, but, extreme care must be taken.
Out of curiosity, is a photo taken by another but only composed of a single individual considered a selfie? Or the lines are blurry? Does it actually matter? Let us keep taking those selfies, but, but, without distracting others, to avoid getting punched in the neck.

So much to love about this post. 😂I loved the first link as well (https://bocc.live/2018/05/20/grabbing-social-media-by-balls/). You are so many shades of awesome in your outspokenness, Joseph! 🎉👍🙌 😎 But, 150 pushups more, that’s all? (Haha just kidding, I can only do 25 or maybe 30 if I pushed it. ;))
Also the humour. The dangers of accidental nude streakers in the background! The dangers of extreme selfie-ism! 😆👌
And yes: “is a photo taken by another but only composed of a single individual considered a selfie? Or the lines are blurry? Does it actually matter?” These questions are ones I too have pondered. 😁
And at all costs yes, we must avoid distracting others while taking selfies. After all, it shouldn’t always be about our selfies. 🤓

Awwh, you stop it Nadine 😋😋😋😄🤗🤗 That first link post was inspired by an Instructor back in grad school when they were sending us off to the brutal world, and told us to clean out our social media accounts. Many colleagues did but I instead joined more social media platforms. Shit! It now makes sense why a letter of recommendation for a PhD program was delayed 🙂🤔🤔 Um fair enough 😉😆😆😅
I love push-ups: normal push-ups, diamonds, fingertip, fist and the list goes on. Tip: do not hold your breath at any single moment; strive the best you can to keep in control of your breath. And the rest will flow. This thing where some claim that breath in while coming up and vice versa, it’s total bs. Let’s aim for 35 tomorrow. Right? 👊 💪 Go Get Them Nadine 👊

You’re so much fun Joseph 😄And such a rebel! 😏😁And a Master. What was your graduate degree in? Again, I’m a bit jealous! I applied for a Master’s but didn’t do a great job of the application. I was scared of succeeding I think! I loved that photo of you with your friends in the other post. 🤗💕so cute!
About the push-ups, um yeah I don’t want to end up looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger. So 25 is good. 😅😉

Well, there is always payback, but it’s a chance am willing to take as a Free spirit 🕵🕊 Nadine, that university missed out on your presence. Better that you are now doing day to day interactive classes with Masters class.
I did a Master of Science in Forensics, with a concentration in molecular biology; yep, fun stuff 😊
That photo was taken in undergrad, good old times 😎😋
My dear, you are missing out on the after feeling of more push-ups 👌😇 It’s unexplainable or narratable and can only be experienced 🤔😉

Yes, free spirts guarded above all, if at all possible! 🕊Joseph you are so kind, so encouraging and wow, so brilliant… forensics and molecular biology, that is pretty serious stuff. 🤓🕵🏽♀️🧐🤩And, my goodness, that does sound amazing about the push-ups, you nearly have me convinced… but more likely I will be taking your word for it, since I trust your word so well. 😉😇😁

That calls for a tap on my chest 😊 Thanks Nadine. Yeap, serious but fun stuff, as long as you don’t get yourself attached to a case, you are good to go and keep spinning the bliss wheel 🐧😂🥂💃🤓
