Bewitched Healer 6 of 8

The Healer once appeared on a day
When everything was clearer than black
Delighting dreams of a childhood
Carefully embedded with voices of the land
Flowing through painted shells of creatures
Filled with tears of happiness,
From a charmed land, miserably born to
With tarnished dreams and efforts of belonging
Stripped unto a strong and tight,
But narrow back
Confronted by fear, responsibility and failure.
Childhood dreams,
Were blessed and forwarded
By enormous trailing conflict, strengthening
A body owned through decades of the land.
Words meant to be wise, provided by the Healer
Contradicted happiness
Enthralling innumerable probabilities
Rhyming in blood filled heads of the land
Abandoning known lives
Following freed spirits, roaming the land.
Expectations of the Healer, seized,
Rejuvenating boundless spirits

My bad, πŸ™ˆ I should have phrased that right. I used insights for sarcasm πŸ˜‹ and the slander, yes that’s true. So I poetically referenced it as bewitching. The “bewitched healer” ended up with wrong assumptions, as a result of being “spell cast”/fed with false information. 🀐🀐

Please Nadine, always feel free to drop in any question(s) and I will be honored to answer it(them). I truly appreciate the words of praise and encouragement πŸ€“πŸ˜‡πŸ•΅πŸ•ŠπŸΉ

In your book it was great, but I love hearing you perform/narrate it, Joseph. πŸ€©πŸ‘Œβœ…βœŠTell us about how this poem came into existence? The exact inspiration? Thanks for sharing your awesomeness, dear blogging friend.

I had to pinch my left forearm to cut down on the level of extreme excitement I am feeling πŸ˜‹πŸ˜„πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ˜ŽπŸ•Š. Thank you very much Nadine. I am glad you asked: As the rest of my writings including other poetic short stories, it’s based on my life story, experiences and dealings with people I encounter and interact with.

“the exact inspiration”? Um, my dear Nadine, okay, here we go:

Bewitched Healer is based on a time I got kicked away from home. Allow I to rephrase: what I thought to be home. I got kicked away because of my differing from “norms” of society and going against some of them. For example, elders of the land (spirit controllers) never being wrong, and the “young ones” (raising new generations) have to follow, with no questions asked. Dare ask a question and it’s considered being disrespectful to the elders. I still think it’s total bullshit and elders need to accept that they are human, capable of wrong.

Despite of all that happens, we always have that one person we look up to and expect to understand us (the healer). Unfortunately, what happens when that person is fed with insights (bewitched) meant to turn against you, is a total nightmare [Sinister]. The unexpected worst occurs, and all hope is destroyed. And I don’t think there is anything worse in life than losing all hope. Could there be?

Worsening the situation, is when you don’t have anyone at heart to turn to, and yet your life is already a complete mess, with you trying to piece it together. Spicing up the situation, is when you have others looking up to you (nocturnal crawling creatures), as their source of hope and inspiration. Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made, to protect those you truly care about. I now feel a tear forming in my left eye.

[Orgasmic (exciting) Part] Is there anything more strangely exciting than finding out what people (especially trusted elders) truly think about you? Them speaking out openly, exposing presumed superiority, clearing the air, and how you are considered a complete waste? Despite of your life struggles and efforts of pushing through college and graduate school all by yourself? And you working your arse off to achieve a better life? And it’s all mocked as being lazy, senseless and a shame? Can it get any more Orgasmic? πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

      Stay awesome Nadine.

Joseph, when I saw your reply it was me pinching myself! πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—β˜οΈπŸ˜€πŸ˜‡πŸ§πŸ€©I was shy to ask but now glad I did. What a wonderful reply…. so grateful to you for so generously sharing your backstory here. Wow, such loss, such possible despair, such valiant hope, such daily triumph. Such a strong guy, Joseph… and a truly multitalented artist.

One more wee question though… hope you will forgive πŸ˜πŸ™…I assume by “insights (bewitched)” you must mean something more akin to slander being told to, or wrong assumptions being made by, the “bewitched” person, is that right? Since I thought insights are actually more akin to deep wisdoms and not bewitchment. πŸ§πŸ€“ (#wordnerdalert πŸ˜…)

I love your spoken word poetry, I think it’s orgasmic sinister indeed, and I can tell you work super hard; I know a little about how much work it is (and how much of a calling/passion it takes) to do this kind of thing.

Likewise, stay awesome Joseph πŸ™Œ and thank you
